Titan Poker Reduces Rake at Cash Games

Titan Poker, one of the most prominent poker sites in the iPoker Network, recently announced that it will either reduce or completely eliminate the rake from several of its ring games. Christening this interesting promotion as “Rake Break,” Titan Poker has not announced the date on which the promotion is to end. According to the terms and conditions of Rake Break, the poker site has the right to either cancel or amend the promotion any time it wishes.

All the poker tables at Titan Poker will not enjoy the Rake Break benefits. Titan Poker has specifically marked some its heads up and short-handed tables as Rake Break tables. While all fixed-limit Texas Hold’em games and No Limit Texas Hold’em games with table limits $0.05/$0.10 will have their rake reduced by 50 percent, rake will be eliminated 100 percent for No Limit Texas Hold’em games with table limits $25/$50 and more.

Although Titan Poker states that rake will be completely eliminated from the high-stakes No Limit Texas Hold’em games, the poker site will withdraw a percentage from the pot. The terms and conditions page of Titan Poker clearly states that the poker site with withdraw a 10 percent fee for all high-stakes hands that witness a flop. Even though this 10 percent fee can be considered to be rake, it is still very minute compared to the amount staked.

It is worth noting that Titan Poker reduces rakes only at tables specially marked and that none of these tables are full ring tables. Besides, tables that enjoy protection from disconnection are not connected to this promotion in any way.

Just before launching the Rake Break promotion, iPoker Network’s ring game traffic was 3,350 players. Recently, PokeScout.com revealed that iPoker’s average player traffic has shot up to 4,250 players. iPoker’s current peak of 7,197 players is much better than its last week’s peak of 6,500 players. This rise in player traffic proves beyond a doubt that the Rake Break promotion is attracting a number of players.

In spite of this rise in player traffic, Titan Poker still lags behind Party Poker and PokerStars. Ever since Party Poker removed its tournament rake recently, its player traffic has shot up. The highest cash game traffic witnessed by Party Poker recently is over 10,000 players, the highest that the poker site has witnessed since 2009.

Currently, PokerStars, which has a weekly player traffic average of 23,400 players with a peak of 39,895 players, appears to be unbeatable. Both Titan Poker and Party Poker have cut down their cash game and tournament rakes, respectively, in a bid to attract the large number of displaced Full Tilt Poker players. Full Tilt Poker lost its license to offer online poker services recently; and ever since, Titan Poker and Party Poker have trying to attract Full Tilt Poker players. Both online poker sites are confident that they will soon catch up with PokerStars where player traffic is concerned.

Besides Titan Poker, the iPoker Network includes Sun Poker, BetFred Poker, William Hill Poker, and others.
