Player Robert Deppe Determined to Achieve WSOP Success

Ever since 2008, Robert Deppe has been making it his mission to compete with the world’s top professional poker players at the highest levels.

Born at Elkhart in Indiana, Deppe grew up in Lima. He played a lot of poker when he was in high school and was absolutely sure that he wanted to make a career out of playing poker. Now, he is very excited that he will be taking part in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013. He said: “This is my sixth year playing in the WSOP and I couldn’t be more excited. This is an experience all serious poker professionals partake in every summer and I am here to compete in every tournament.”

The WSOP is an internationally acclaimed live poker tournament series, which is held every summer in Las Vegas. The 2013 edition of this lucrative event is being held in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. It comprises a large number of live poker tournaments based on poker variants such as NL Hold’em, PL Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Lo, and H.O.R.S.E. Every summer, the WSOP attracts hundreds and thousands of poker players from all over the world, willing to risk huge sums of money with the hopes of winning life-transforming poker jackpots. Players are eager to compete for one of those prestigious WSOP gold bracelets that are awarded to the champion of each WSOP event.

Deppe is greatly attracted to the idea of winning and wearing one of those elusive WSOP gold bracelets, which is why he continuously works on bettering his game of poker. He said: “Growing up I have always been competitive and there is nothing better than competing on the felt with the best players in the world. I don’t play in these events to earn the most money, I play because of my competitive nature, my strife for perfection and to one day wear one of those elusive gold bracelets that every poker player dreams of.”

Deppe has now become used to taking part in big live poker tournaments. Ever since 2008, he has won cash prizes in nine WSOP tournaments. Recently, he finished 11th in Event #18, a tournament with a buy-in of $1,000, and won a prize of $19,664. Deppe had to compete against a huge field of 2071 players in order to win this prize, and it gave him all the confidence he needed to continue taking part in WSOP events. He said: “I have already played in a few tournaments this summer but this was by far the best finish I have ever had here. With 15 to 20 more tournaments on my schedule, I hope to carry this momentum from Event 18 with me into future events.”

The grand finale of the WSOP is the $10k buy-in Main Event, and Deppe wants to reach deep into the Main Event and become one of the top poker players in the world. He said that he had already reached deep into last year’s Main Event and is confident of achieving the same this year.
