Vadzim Kursevich Emerges PokerStars.fr EPT Deauville Champion

Vadzim Kursevich emerged as the champion of the PokerStars.fr European Poker Tour (EPT) 2012 Deauville Main Event, which came to an end on the night of Monday. A total of 889 players participated in this event, and Kursevich had to play against Graydon, Paul Guichard, Luca Pagano, Trong, and others to emerge as the winner. Although he began at the Main Event final table with the second largest stack of chips, Kursevich played excellently and beat Paul Guichard to scoop up a whopping prize of EUR875,000.

When the final table tournament commenced, Mike Graydon was the player with the shortest stack of chips, and owing to this reason, he did not last more than two hours at the table. Luca Pagano, the professional poker player in Team PokerStars, was the next to be knocked off the table.

During the next three and a half hours, professional poker players such as Olivier Rogez and Bruno Jais were knocked off the table. After this, the players took a break from playing poker for one hour and returned for yet another exciting session. This time Trong was the chip leader, but he lost a major portion of his stack to Kursevich, who now had the second largest stack of chips. Shortly thereafter, Trong lost to Kursevich and was forced off the table.

With Trong no longer one of his opponents, Kursevich could divert all his attention to the other short-stacked players at the table. One by one, he eliminated them all beginning with Yorane Kerignard. This left him playing heads up against Paul Guichard.

This time Kursevich held the larger stack, but Guichard was more than a match for him, playing so well that the chip stacks appeared more or less equal. The antes and blinds were at 125,000/250,000/30,000 when Kursevich raised to 500,000. Guichard responded with a 1,250,000 bet, in response to which Kursevich called before the flop descended.

When Guichard bet 1,325,000, Kursevich bet all in, to which his opponent called. However, Kursevich emerged as the champion as he clearly had the better hand. He emerged as the last man standing and scooped up a large pot of EUR875,000.

The final table results are as follows. The champion of the PokerStars.fr European Poker Tour (EPT) Deauville Main Event was Vadzim Kursevich, who scooped up an enormous prize of €875,000. Paul Guichard who finished second and Vuong Than Trong who finished third won large prizes of €557,000 and €328,000, respectively.
