PokerStars Announces Plans to Launch Zoom Poker by Mid-March

PokerStars, one of the top online poker rooms in the industry, recently announced that it would be launching the exciting and much awaited Zoom Poker as a real money game. Poker players using the site are sure to be excited over the prospect of this new development as it will fill the gap created by the absence of Rush Poker.

Rush Poker was the fast poker offering created by the now closed site Full Tilt Poker and the advent of Zoom Poker will have Rush Poker fans delighted.

PokerStars estimates that Zoom Poker will be fully active and accessible to its players well before the end of this month. Players will be able to try real money Zoom Poker games online in March, as the site has been testing the gaming software over the past weeks and has finally worked out a suitable version for the launch.

Earlier, Zoom Poker had been available to poker players in a free play version that had fast become popular. The real money poker game is expected to be a greater success than its predecessor.

According to a company spokesperson for PokerStars and Zoom Poker, the date of launch has been set to somewhere in the middle of March. “We are finalizing the last few details regarding the product and expect Zoom to be released as Real Money beta in mid-March,” he said.

Reports also indicate that PokerStars has made changes to its Zoom Poker game since testing it and after getting feedback from their poker players. The new improved and real money version of Zoom Poker will feature 2 new changes as compared to the original version. Zoom Poker for real money will allow players to fold their hand and sit in just to watch the progress of the rest of the game using the “Fold and Watch” option.

Players will also be able to stay on the sidelines of an upcoming BB, should they check the box asking to sit out the next game. The Zoom Poker gaming set up from PokerStars works in a unique “cloud” format to deal with the player crowds. All the players who join PokerStars Zoom will be added to a “cloud” of players and then moved to individual tables to play with other poker members from the cloud.

What’s more, poker players using the Zoom Poker game will be able to view several poker hands per hour. This is reported to be many times higher than the number allowed for regular poker games; for instance, players will get to see as many as 200 poker hands for every 60 minutes of play.

Although PokerStars seems to have based its Zoom Poker game on Rush Poker, the two have many differences. PokerStars claims that their Zoom Poker is “a new fast-paced way to play poker.” The PokerStars site also encourages players to try their new offering, stating “You’re always at the centre of the action and can play more hands per hour than ever before.”
