PokerStars Launches Micro Millions Tournament Series
PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker room and the only online poker room that recovered completely from the incidents of Black Friday and its consequences, announced on Wednesday that it will launch an online poker tournament series, created especially for its micro stakes players and recreational players.
Called the Micro Millions Tournament Series, the inaugural series will be played between March 15 and March 25, carrying a huge guaranteed prize pool of $5 million. The series will comprise 100 events and the buy-ins for these events will begin at only $0.11.
Tournaments will run for 24 hours throughout the series. On March 25, Sunday, a large $22 Micro Millions Main Event carrying a prize pool of $1 million will be played. Daily, players will be given the chance to participate in a $1 tournament carrying a prize pool of as much as $100k. Besides, players can choose from a large variety of events with buy-ins ranging from $2 to $10.
Most of the poker tournaments in the series will be based on NL Texas Hold’em although there were be tournaments based on Draw, Omaha Hi Lo, Stud and PL Omaha. Players can choose from a large variety of exciting poker tournament options like knockouts, shootouts, turbos, rebuys, big ante tournaments, and many more.
Voicing his opinions regarding the tournament series, Lex Veldhuis of Team PokerStars Pro said that Micro Millions is the best tournament series PokerStars has ever launched in its history. Recalling how big tournament series used to fascinate him back in those days when he used to play micro stakes games, he said that Micro Millions Tournament Series actually give micro stakes players the chance to participate in big tournament series at affordable rates. He has also expressed his intention to participate in many of the tournaments simply because he thinks that it is an awesome promotion.
The $1000k Guaranteed Micro Millions Main Event, which has a buy-in of $22, is worth mentioning because it is the highlight of the tournament series. Players need not even part with the $22 buy-in if they want to participate in this event. They can even win their seats for this lucrative tournament through satellite qualifiers that have buy-ins as low as a few cents. However, if players have the required bankroll and do not want the bother of participating in a number of qualifier satellites, they can buy-in directly to the event.
