PokerStars Launches qualifiers for EPT London
The schedule for the European Poker Tour’s London stop, called Festival of Poker, which is part of its eighth season, has already commenced. This mega poker event will comprise 31 action-packed live poker tournaments, customized to suit different bankrolls and expected to attract thousands of poker players from different parts of the world.
The EPT’s eighth season commenced at Tallinn in Estonia, and its London stop will be held from September 29 – October 6, a total of 8 days packed with poker. The Main Event, with a buy-in of £5,000 + £250, which is scheduled to be held from September 30 – October 6, has already attracted a lot of attention because it promises to be the biggest live poker event of the year.
Highlights of EPT London Festival of Poker include the £2,150 European 8 Game Tournament, the £5,000 Heads-Up Tournament, the £20,500 High Roller Tournament, and the £550 PokerStars Women Live Tournament, which is scheduled to be held on October 2.
PokerStars has already launched qualifying satellites to EPT London Festival of Poker, challenging players to win prize packages worth £1,500. In fact, the qualifiers for the Main Event have already begun.
EPT London will also feature a series of brand new varieties of tournaments, some of which are the £550 Five Card PLO Hi Lo Tournament, the £330 NL Turbo “Win the Button” Tournament, and the £330 NL Turbo “Rivers” Tournament enabling players to pick their own river cards, and the £120 NL Hyper Turbo Tournament, which gives players a chip stack of 10,000 plus 10-minute levels. The members of Team PokerStars are immensely excited about the event.
The tournaments of EPT London Festival of Poker will be held at Hilton London Metropole and the cash poker games will be run at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino, commonly called Vic Casino, situated close to the Hilton. Vic Casino GM Martin Ramskill says that all participating players are free to play cash poker games for 24 hours of the day in Vic Casino’s poker room. He also promises courtesy cars carrying players from one venue to the other continuously.
Players who wish to qualify for the EPT London can do so at PokerStars. The Main Event of EPT London last year witnessed 848 players fighting for the prize pot of £4,112,800, enabling the winner David Vamplew, a student from Scotland, the chance to take home £900,000. Owing to the popularity of EPT Main Event, the organizers have allotted another day to it.
Another fantastic feature of EPT London will be the EPT Country of the Year €10k Freeroll. During the seventh season, Ireland won this award after Irish players made the largest number of cashes. Accordingly, all the 38 Irish players who had participated in the EPT Main Event during the previous season will be invited to play this fabulous freeroll, which will be held in London.
