PokerStars and Party Poker Heads Declared Most Important Industry Leaders

PokerStars and Party Poker are two online poker giants in the gambling industry and have well defined and strong reputations in the player community for being reliable and lucrative poker rooms.

Therefore it should not come as a surprise to note that the heads of the two companies have been declared by Bluff Magazine to be the number one and number two leaders on the “Power 20” list.

The first place on the “Power 20” list of Bluff magazine’s was given to Isai Scheinberg who founded the PokerStars poker room and helped bring it up to the standard it is now at. His win is remarkable on account of the fact that PokerStars not only lost out on its US poker player customer base after Black Friday but also had to settle its affairs with the DOJ and weather the financial crisis that ensued. On comparing it to Full Tilt Poker, which has been all but destroyed since the events of Black Friday, it becomes apparent as to how strong a leader Isai Scheinberg really is.

Jim Ryan, who took second place on the “Power 20” list is co- responsible for Bwin. Party – the newly merged online poker enterprise that comprises the reputed poker brands Party Gaming and Bwin Poker.

In fourth place stood Mitch Garber, the Chief Executive Officer of the renowned poker brand Caesars. Garber heads Caesars Interactive Entertainment and made a noteworthy contribution to the company by pushing the deal between 888 Holdings – the parent company of 888 Poker and Caesars.

Jeremy Taylor, a spokesperson for G-Poker commented on the list. “Caesars’ CEO being on the list is no surprise. Caesars just made a deal with 888 Holdings, which operate 888 Poker, which could really pave the way for a change in North American online poker. 888 were already one of the most influential companies in online poker worldwide, but since the shutdown-related events surrounding PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker in April last year, 888 filled the gap and quickly became the definite leader of online poker in Canada.”

G-Poker, further observed that both first, second and fourth place winners were Canadians and claimed that Canadian leaders were at the forefront of the industry. This includes Isai Scheinberg the founder of PokerStars, Jim Ryan who acts as Bwin.Party’s Co-Chief Executive Officer and Mitch Garber, Caesars Interactive Entertainment’s Chief Executive Officer.

Yet another Canadian to make the list was Daniel Negreanu, who although not a company head is a strong and skilled poker professional. Negreanu is also somewhat of a self-appointed spokesperson for the community and has been known to speak out on many issues in the poker industry.
