John Dibella Emerges PokerStars Champion of PCA 2012

The 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Main Event, an action-packed poker tournament that lasted for 7 days, culminated with John Dibella emerging as the champion. When Dibella reached the final table of the PCA event, he had the fifth largest number of chips.

The final table of PCA 2012 Main Table comprised some of the most talented poker players in the world.

Ruben Visser held the fourth largest stack of chips, but unfortunately, his table position acted against him. Since Visser had opponents holding large chip stacks to his left while those holding smaller chip stacks sat to his right, he was the first to be knocked off the table.

The next player to leave the table was David Bernstein, closely followed by Anthony Gregg. Gregg was short-stacked when he reached the final table, but he played an excellent game and finished sixth. Gregg was the runner up of the PCA Main Event of 2009.

During the early stages of the game, Mark Drover had just three large blinds in his stack, but he played well and ended up finishing fifth. This left four players at the table when it was time for the dinner break.

The first hand of the post-dinner session was played by Xuan Liu, a hand that turned out to be her last too. To cut a long story short, Liu finished fourth, leaving Jaka, Julius, and Dibella at the table, and as the game progressed, Dibello found himself with the largest stack of chips. When Jaka strongly felt that he no longer stood any chances, he got out of the way and left Dibella and Julius fighting for the pot.

When the heads-up match between Dibella and Julius began, Dibella had a chip stack of 18,585,000 against Julius’s chip stack of 13,105,000. Dibella continued as the chip leader and finally emerged as the winner of the match.

Dibella is a 43-year-old professional poker player who is also a stock trader in Westcherster County, New York. The $1,775,000 he collected after winning the PCA 2012 Main Event is his largest cash win so far, with his largest previous win being the $16,000 he scooped up when he finished in the 60th position in the PCA Main Event in 2008.

The final results are as follows. The champion of PCA 2012 Main Event was John Dibella of USA, who won $1,775,000. Kyle Julius of USA and Faraz Jaka of USA finished second and third, scooping up $1,500,000 and $755,000, respectively.

The players who finished fourth and fifth were Xuan Liu of Canada and Mark Drover of Canada, who collected $600,000 and $468,000, respectively. Anthony Gregg of USA finished sixth and collected a prize of $364,000.

David Bernstein of Canada and Ruben Visser of Netherlands finished seventh and eighth and won prizes of $260,000 and $156,600, respectively.

The excitement of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2012 Main Event has died down, but the poker community is eagerly looking forward to the final table action of the PCA High Roller event, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday.
