Party Poker Pokerfest II Promises Cash Prizes Galore

Party Poker is to launch the second edition of its Pokerfest, an annual online poker event that was initiated last year and became immensely popular in a short time. Called Pokerfest II, this event is expected to go a long way in satisfying online poker players’ requirements for some more online poker excitement.

Now that Full Tilt Poker and UB Poker are no longer functional, a number of online poker players are missing the continuous online poker excitement these two online poker rooms used to provide. The UBOC, run by UB Poker, and the FTOPS, run by Full Tilt Poker, gave the online poker community non stop online poker action.

It cannot be denied that PokerStars.com, which is now the largest online poker room in the world, runs a wide range of exciting online poker events such as the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), to mention just two, but the online poker community is always thirsty for more. Party Poker’s Pokerfest, therefore, came at a time when the online poker community is literally screaming for some more high quality online poker action.

Pokerfest II is going to be a collection of 47 online poker tournaments, carrying a guaranteed prize pool of $3.5 million. It is scheduled to commence on April 22 and will end on May 6. While the opening day will feature four No Limit Hold’em Poker tournaments, the closing day will feature the mega Main Event, which challenges players to win their share of a whopping prize pool of $1 million.

Besides, Pokerfest II will offer action based on popular poker variants such as Omaha and Hold’em in exciting formats such as speed tournaments, deep stack tournaments, re-buy tournaments, 6-max tournaments, and fixed limit tournaments. While players with slim bankrolls can buy-in with Party Points, high rollers can spend as much as $1,060 to buy-in to a tournament. Since the event is meant for everybody, the buy-in is in the highly affordable range of $11 to $99.

Besides their share of the promised prize pool, players can win a number of extra jackpots. For instance, the player who wins 3 tournaments will win a $14k World Series of Poker (WSOP) prize package along with a cash prize of $20k. The finalists of 10 events will win iPads and a cash prize of $7,500, the cash prize winners of 20 events will win iPads and $5k, and the cash prize winners of 10 events will win iPads and $2,500.

In addition, Party Poker is adding a leaderboard competition and two daily side events with a buy-in of $1 each as long as the event lasts. Participants are automatically added into the leaderboard competition, which comprises 3 different leaderboards for players who buy-in with points, players who buy-in with $6 to $33, and players who buy-in with more than $55, giving them a chance to win a top prize of $250 depending on their buy-in range.

Party Poker is currently running qualifier satellites for its Pokerfest II events.
