Party Poker Launches Poker Tournament Series Pokerfest

When Full Tilt Poker was functional, online poker players would eagerly look forward to the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) as soon as the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) concluded. Party Poker has made a move to fill the void by launching Pokerfest, a series of online poker tournaments, which is scheduled to commence at the end of October.

Pokerfest, which will be held from Oct 23 to Nov 6, will comprise a total of 47 events and a prize pool of $3 million. Three poker events will be held daily, with each event customized to suit players with different bankroll sizes and wagering habits. Players can also use Party Points earned through wagering activity at Party Poker to buy-in to some of the events. For instance, players can buy-in to one of these events with just a few Party Points while other events have buy-ins ranging from $6 to $33. The most expensive events, meant for high rollers, have buy-ins ranging between $55 and $1,060.

Some of the top events are the first, twenty-third, forty-sixth, and forty-seventh events. The first event is a $215 NL Texas Hold’em $300k Guaranteed event, the twenty-third event is the $215 NL Hold’em $350k Guaranteed event, the forty-sixth event is the $33 NL Hold’em $50k Guaranteed, and the forty-seventh event is the $640 NL Hold’em Championship $1 Million Guaranteed. Interested poker players simply have to visit the Party Poker website to check out the entire schedule.

Players who feel that they cannot afford to buy-in to these events need not despair because Party Poker will run qualifiers with affordable buy-ins to these events. The satellites will be run in the form of a ladder, with players having to win their way up to the Pokerfest tournaments.

The event will comprise 3 leaderboards—one for Party Points tournaments, one for low by-in tournaments, and one for high buy-in tournaments. The online poker room will award points based on players’ performance in the tournament and the buy-in. Accordingly, players can win their share of prize pools as large as $5k for points tournaments, $30k for low buy-in tournaments, and $65k for high buy-in tournaments. Players stand the chance of winning first prizes of $500, $2,500, and $5000 for points, low buy-in, and high buy-in tournaments.

Besides, Pokerfest will include a number of side events, enabling players to win plenty of extra money. The $35k Pokerfest Jackpots comprise a jackpot worth $20k for the first player to win 3 Pokerfest tournaments, $10k for the first player to reach the finals in 10 tournaments, and $5k for the first player to win cash prizes 10 times.

Party Poker will be running Daily Dollar Side Events, starting from Oct 24. These comprise two $1 buy-in poker tournaments, which will be run daily.

All players participating in Pokerfest will gain an entry into a prize draw for every tournament they participate in. The online poker room will draw 500 names at random and will give away fabulous prizes such as chip sets, iPads, and others.
