Party Poker Launches FastForward Poker to Beat Competition

Party Poker, which launched its own variant of high-speed poker called FastFoward Poker, has finally joined the small group of online poker companies that offer high-speed poker to their online poker gaming customers. Party Poker began by offering FastForward Poker for fun, and since the product’s beta testing was successful, began offering real money FastForward Poker within just two days of launching the fun money version.

FastForward Poker bears a striking resemblance to other high-speed poker variants in the industry. Poker players must begin by choosing a game, bet size, and buy-in to enter a game, and once they do so, they will find themselves in a large pool of players and will be allotted a table. The game is played just like any other game of poker. Players who decide to fold their hands will be immediately directed to another table and dealt a fresh hand of cards.

One of the most special features of FastForward Poker is the Forward Fold option, thanks to which players do not even have to wait for their turn to fold. They can simply hit the Forward Fold option if they want to fold and move to another table with a new hand and a new set of opponents. The other players at the table will feel as if the player has folded when his/her turn came; they will never know that he/she hit the FastForward Fold button and moved to a new table.

A player who not only wants to fold, but also wants to see how the game unfolds can hit the Watch on Fold button. This will enable players to stay at the table and watch what happens next. If players wants to move on half-way through, they can simply hit the Next Hand option and move to the next table.

Party Poker is offering FastForward Poker for NL Hold’em ring games only at present. Players can play as many as four FastForward Poker tables at the same time either for the same games and bet sizes or for different games and bet sizes.

Surprisingly, Party Poker, in spite of being one of the top online poker rooms in the industry, took its own sweet time to develop a high-speed variant of poker. The online poker room was literally forced to act fast because its parent company Bwin.party Digital Entertainment Plc realized that Party Poker was losing players because of the popularity of Zoom Poker at PokerStars.

PokerScout.com stated that Party Poker’s player traffic for cash games has declined 44 percent year-on-year. PokerScout.com also noted that, ever since PokerStars launched Zoom Poker, 25 percent of its ring game players played at the Zoom Poker tables. Zoom Poker owes its popularity to the fact that its hands are 3 times faster than ring game hands, owing to which nearly half the total number of ring game hands at PokerStars are played at its Zoom Poker tables. Party Poker had to do something fast to deal with this competition, and that is why it launched FastForward Poker.
