Canadian Players Advised to Stick to Licensed Poker Sites

G-poker, the number one online poker resource for Canadian poker players, which can be accessed at www.g-poker.ca, has reported that the Government of France has instructed its Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to prevent French online poker players from gaining access to online gaming sites that have not been issued a gaming license by ARJEL, a regulatory body in France, with effect from 2012.

ARJEL, which was launched in 2010 with the purpose of providing gaming licenses, has already provided licenses to giant online poker sites such as PokerStars, Party Poker, and 888 Poker. The Government of France has instructed its ISPs to redirect French online poker players to the above-mentioned approved sites if they try to access online poker rooms that do not have the ARJEL poker gaming license.

Jeremy Taylor, the spokesman for G-poker, explained that, under these circumstances, PokerStars will soon become the number one online poker room in the French online poker industry, especially since the events of April 15, 2011 have closed the doors of the US online poker market for them. Simultaneously, Taylor cautions that an online gaming company with a French license is not exactly safe for Canadian online players. Citing the example of Full Tilt Poker, which had a French license, he said that the ARJEL suspended Full Tilt Poker’s license as soon as things went from bad to worse for Full Tilt Poker. As a result, Canadian players lost the poker funds they had deposited into their Full Tilt Poker accounts and have not yet got a refund despite the fact that they have moved court not only in Canada, but also abroad.

Taylor said that Canadian players are advised to register at online poker brands belonging to publicly traded gaming companies that are required to satisfy strict requirements and maintain the confidence of their stockholders through the employment of sensible business models.

Speaking in praise of 888 Poker, Taylor said that 888 Poker not only has an ARJEL license, but is also licensed by the Nevada Gaming Council, which will put it in an advantageous position when the online poker industry is finally legalized and regulated in the US. Besides, 888 Poker has been included in the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and has been very successful last year because of its honesty and its habit of sticking to the gambling law of the locality, facts that place 888 Poker in a class of its own.

Giving the example of Party Poker, Taylor said that Party Poker also has a license from the ARJEL, but is a brand belonging to a public company with an excellent reputation. Moreover, players of Party Poker are 100 percent satisfied with its top-notch games, promotions, bonuses, and tournaments, he said.

Further, Taylor said that 888 Poker has experienced an 86 percent rise in traffic volume last year. Gaming experts and authorities are directing online poker players to approved online poker rooms such as Party Poker and 888 Poker, which is why Canadian players stand a better chance of facing great poker competition there.
