The quality still does not quite match that of the download version, but it’s a far cry from the Flash poker of the 90s.
The graphic quality has certainly improved, as has the speed. There are no longer buggy glitches freezing up the tables and forcing you to log back in on a regular basis. Overall, the experience is very similar to that of the download poker client.
The load time is a bit slower, which is to be expected. Flash poker requires you to load all graphics, animations, sound effects, etc. as they occur, whereas the download version has all relative files already loaded on your computer for faster loading.
All that’s required is a java-capable system. Any computer developed in the last 5 years should come pre-equipped with Java pre-installed. If not, you’ll be prompted to install the latest version of Java when you attempt to use the Flash-based poker room.
