Who are the Richest Online Poker Players?

The richest online poker players are, for the most part, the same professional poker players we love to watch at the World Series of Poker, World Poker tour and other major events around the world. Because they make so much money in live events, in addition to their online poker success, they have amassed some staggering bankrolls over their professional careers.

Richest Online Poker Players – Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey is still a youngling in terms of his professional poker career, both online and live. At just 27 years of age, this phenomenal poker pro has accumulated nearly $13 million in live tournament chases, and countless millions in his online poker play.

Phil Ivey is a prominent member of Team Full Tilt, and when he’s hitting the felt on major poker tours, he’s often found at the virtual tables of Full Tilt Poker’s highest stakes games. Over the past few years, Ivey has raked in between 4- and 8-million annually in online poker earnings!

Richest Online Poker Players – David Benyamine

At 37 years old, David Benyamine has been playing poker for over 25 years, all of them successfully and most professionally. His live tournament exploits have earned him over $3.5 million, but it is his cash game play that has made him the true multi-millionaire that he is today. He is considered to be the best French poker player in the world.

Benyamine has quite the reputation for playing the highest stakes available in online poker, which is likely the number one reason he plays at Full Tilt Poker. There is no way of knowing exactly how much of David Benyamine’s fortune was established playing online poker, but 8-digit figures (in excess of $10 million) are certainly to be expected.

Richest Online Poker Players – Tom Dwan

Tom Dwan, best known as “durrrr” on Full tilt Poker (yes, another Full Tilt fiend!) is another one of the richest online poker players in the world. What sets Dwan aside from the rest of his fellow wealth hoarders is that he does not focus much on live tournament play. In fact, Dwan made a name for himself playing only online poker, and rarely shows up at major live events.

In his first 50,000 online poker hands (that’s hands, not sessions!), Tom “durrrr” Dwan had already surpassed the $5-million profit mark. The majority of his winnings came from victories over Full Tilt players “elmariachi macho”, “Ziigmund” and Patrik Antonius, from which he earned nearly $3.5 million combined.

Richest Online Poker Players – Brian Townsend

Brian Townsend, aka “sbrugby”, has had quite the exhilarating run at online poker. In December of 2009, his online poker winnings surpassed $2 million. Townsend may not have amassed the majority of his fortune playing online poker, but he certainly has quite the bankroll with an 8-figure net worth.

Richest Online Poker Players – Patrik Antonius

Patrik Antonius has been playing professional poker since 2004, but did not receive universal recognition for his impeccable skills until he 2008, impressing the managers of Full Tilt Poker with a 7th place run at the first event of the ’08 WSOP. Patrik earned $124k and a spot on the roster of Team Full Tilt Poker. That was when his name burst into flaming glory among the online poker world.

Since that time, Patrik has been a fierce competitor often found at the highest stakes tables of Full Tilt. The poker room even named several high stakes tables after the young Finnish pro. His countless millions in online poker winnings are proven by an incredible record held at Full Tilt – the largest single online poker pot ever awarded. Antonius scooped $1,356,946 in a single hand against Isuldur1 in November of 2009.
